Spicy Prawn and Chicken Stir-Fry
Ingredients:
- 200g prawns, peeled and deveined
- 200g chicken breast, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon chilly powder (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon garam masala
- 2 tablespoons oil (vegetable or olive oil)
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced (optional for additional flavor and color)
- Fresh coriander for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Ingredients:
- In a bowl, marinate the prawns and chicken with pepper, chilli powder, salt, and garam masala. Let it sit for about 15-20 minutes.
Cook the Chicken:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken slices and cook until they are golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Cook the Prawns:
- In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil. Add the prawns and cook until they turn pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the prawns from the skillet and set aside with the chicken.
Sauté the Aromatics:
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and cook until translucent, about 3 minutes. Add the minced garlic and sliced bell pepper (if using), and cook for another 2-3 minutes until they are fragrant and slightly softened.
Combine and Finish:
- Return the cooked chicken and prawns to the skillet. Stir everything together, ensuring the spices and aromatics are well distributed. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
Garnish and Serve:
- Garnish with fresh coriander if desired. Serve hot with steamed rice or naan bread.
